APPRAISALS

Americana Source will provide you with a professional appraisal under the following conditions:

Insurance
Americana Source can appraise a single item, an entire collection, or an estate. A Retail Replacement Value appraisal can be assessed in order for proper coverage to be provided by your insurance company.

 
Estate Settlement and Disbursements
A Fair Market Value appraisal can be assessed in order to satisfy legal requirements under a court order or for estate distributions.

Donations
A Fair Market Value appraisal can be completed to determine the value of a charitable donation to a museum, historic society or a charity of your choice.

All appraisals are executed to conform to USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice), the accepted practice for all IRS appraisals (for donation and estate settlements).   All items are thoroughly researched and any historical data, is used in consideration of value.  All material is itemized and a thorough appraisal report is provided.  Appraisals are done on an hourly or day rate basis.

 

CONSULTATIONS

Americana Source can play a variety of roles in assisting you with your item, collection, or estate:

Professional Advice
Americana Source can advise you on what to do with your material, and advise you on whether auction or private sale may be most beneficial to your needs.

Auction Services
Americana Source can provide situation reports on items at auction, bid for clients, or help you find the most effective auction for your material.

Collection Management
Americana Source can identify your items, organize your collection, and establish a Professional Opinion of Value*  on your items for your inventory management system.

Item Research
Americana Source can collect important historical data on your material and provide you with research records and documentation to add to your items provenance.

Brokerage Services
Americana Source has a deep pool of clients and can place your item via private treaty with a museum, historical society, or private collector.

Consignments
Americana Source can take your item or collection on consignment and offer it for private sale or through catalog auction.
